Hey everyone. Haven't talked to you a lot of you in a long time.
Here's what is going on with me:
I'm getting married this summer, I've got a year left in school, and I'm a freelance trumpeter in Chicago playing a lot of gigs (I even played for those bastards from Disney).
How is everyone else?

Here's the deal with Disney...
I put up a website about 6 months ago (www.donstinsonmusic.com, if you want to check it out) to basically advertise (whore myself out). A representative from Disney on Ice calls me to play fanfares for the Princess Show (yeah it's a princess Ice show, but it's money). I tell them that I am not sure I am able to do it, because of a scheduling conflict. Well, turns out five minutes later that I realize I am able to do it. I call them right back, but they already found someone within five minutes. So, I asked her, curiously, how much this would have paid. And then I cry as I hear that payment was $500.00 plus dinner for one half of an hour of music.
As for other Disney curses, I got a job playing the trumpet part for the musical Beauty and the Beast. On the way to the opening night show, a woman in her big ass towncar decides that she doesn't want to wait to turn left, even though she does not have a protected arrow. T-bones me as I am crossing the intersection, and totals my car. They found her completely at fault, but I still blame Disney.

Word, man!
Nice to hear from you! Even better, it's nice to hear good things from you. Most of our returning members come back with 'hey.. yeah, i'm still a pothead... alllllright'. Congrats on everything, especially the marriage. Good to know you're an accomplished trumpeteer... raising the possibilities of a TTT band, down the line (maybe when we're all in our 50's).
I don't believe you mentioned what you're doing in school, only that you're doing alot of it. What's the edumacation?
Really pro site by the way. Will you be playing at your own wedding?
Cheers buddy!

Thanks guys.
I'm actually a music education major. As soon as I graduate, I'll probably be a high school band director for a while, while getting a masters. I eventually intend to teach college. As for playing my own stuff, not too much, but I have arranged some music. If anyone wants to hear my brass quintet arrangement of All in the Family/Diff'rent Strokes Theme song, drop me a line.
Anything new with anyone else?

Actually it's a good question, I'd like to hear an update from everyone too.
I'll forego my turn.
You're getting married?!?! Damn, you were cute. :)
Congrats on all the good news. Nice to see that while you were absent for so long, you were accomplishing things!
