Finally..summer.

Finally, the summer has arrived yet again. What have you got lined up?

Me? Nothing but the usual summer time jazz, which usually involves cook outs, swimming, etc, etc. I've gotta find a job very soon, as I need money to help pay for my tuition, and money to do stuff with.

My parents have said that they will buy me a car when/if I take all my piercings out, so, on Father's day I'm going to see if there's any truth behind their statement.

Going camping with a bunch of friends next weekend. That should be really fun.

Planning on taking another trip to North Carolina next month with a few friends, and hopefully getting my 4th tattoo while I'm there.

5 concerts coming to the area that I'd really like to go to. Ozzfest and Gigantour, and then Mushroomhead is playing twice in Maine, and then in New Hampshire, so that'll be awesome. Seeing one of my favorite bands 3 times in a row.

I'll probably take a few dumps here and there as well.

Man, i've been on summer for a month and a half and it's not memorable. I've been looking for a job the whole time save the week and a half I worked at an ice factory. I'm still jobless. I visited my girlfriend once which was great but way too rare. I'm doing a math correspondence course that's alright. I really gotta charge myself up, get a job and get shit rolling.

I've been out of college for a month, but, the weather has been way too shitty to even call it summer. It seriously rained for almost 2 months straight, but, the rain has slowed a bit, and we've finally seen some sun.

Ahh, THAT kind of summer. It's been warm for a while here but it's goddamned sweltering now. I've been pretty active though, biking and swimming so far, but i might start jogging if i feel hardcore.

That show may be as close as we ever come to a TTT convention.

Sleepover at Sharkz's house afterwards. B.Y.O.S.L.B.

Zell if you still need a ride I can probably give you one. I wasn't aware that no one was going to be around to go when I talked to you about it.

I've been on my summer break since like May 8th... yippee.

I'm working at my school full time on my school's website. We're completely redoing the site from its torrid ugliness that is the current design (at least, in my opinion -- http://www.assumption.edu) to a new design that I'm working on right now that looks pretty good and should be moderately functional. Or atleast, more functional than the current site (in my opinion).

I also opening up RedSoxRSS.com tomorrow, a Red Sox online RSS aggregate... and some other shit.

I don't like planning things for the summer ... but I have some concerts (Guster & the Boston Pops next week; James Taylor in a few weeks; Bruce Springsteen) and my friend and I are doing some shows around here... though we haven't really gotten much together. We're doing covers for the most part ... Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Simon & Garfunkel mostly... and I'm doing some blues stuff with piano and harmonica. So it should be good. We performed last year at a party and did well, and everybody liked our stuff ... which there used to be a video on the internet floating around of, so I'll try to find it.

PEACE!

I really wanted to get a small band together to play a few bar shows this summer. But in my experience people around here are either two stuck in the mindset that they have to perform "good" music or they are just uncommited to practicing and stuff. I just wanna play some fun shows and have a fun time.

Ha ha ha, yeah. Sadly, there are people who FOUGHT for that section to be on the website. THere's so much bureaucratic bull shit that goes into the LITTLEST thing.

I finally found the test-design that I've been working on this week:

http://www.assumption.edu/05www/default2.html
http://www.assumption.edu/05www/default3.html
http://www.assumption.edu/05www/default.html

Those are some of the rotating design ideas. You'll notice in "Default3", the picture of the choir girl ... her hair looks "irregular." I had to cut her out of another picture, and as many people know, cutting our whispy hair with a dark background and making it transparent is nearly impossible ... so I had to completely erase like 70% of her hair and rubber stamp it back in with the more solid parts of her hair... so the right side is like ... straight ... the left is curley, and she has really flat hair on top. Nobody has noticed it until I have told them ... but I'm sure she'll see the picture and be like "WTF ... I was having a baaaad hairday..."

Edit -- this is just a REALLY early design, though. THere's a lot of things I'm pushing for, my boss is pushing for, and other peopkle would like. I HATE the bevel and the drop shadow on the upper text... absolutely hate it. I hate that the "Apply, Donate, Visit" links take up three lines.. that could be moved to one line. I really dislike the dark colored divider between the tan strip and the regular page. Certain people want to keep the bevel and the drop shadow because they htink it looks good ... but it looks old and outdated.

I dunno ... we'll see. I've got a meeting with the Dean of Students on Tuesday and one with the Board of Trustees next week to tell them what's going to happen ... so I somehow have to explain the Assumption College website to a bunch of 60 year olds who barely know how to use a computer.
