OMFG...break kill mame smash;lkashdfk !#@$

I just had huge hard drive crash...lost everything on my server really, all the music and shit, which, is nothing compared to everything else I lost, like my resume, which, might be recoverable through a family member.

I already tried running a data recovery tool on the drive, but, it was unable to find anything, fuck I'm angry.

oooouuuuch. i have a 60gb drive that i need to use for backup, but i'm too lazy to transfer everything. i really want to get another SATA drive, at least 120gb, for backup but it's not in my budget right now.

I think this is going to force me to break out the credit card yet again and slam it down in the name of all that is DONNIE.

I remembered that for the lan party in june, I copied all the mp3s I had at the time over to another hard drive on my main machine (which I game on). After the lan I just deleted them.

I found a program I used on a pal's machine to do a huge 40gb recovery a few months ago, loaded the demo, and sure enough it found the mp3s chillin' in limbo on the drive, not taking up space, but, just kinda found the imprint, I'm downloading the full thing right now to hopefully at least get them recovered, it's not going to be everything, not by a long shot, but, it'll save some hassle...

As for the credit card, I think this is what I'm going to do, something I've been meaning to do, but, well, didn't get to it in time

I have an ATA100 raid card chillin that I haven't used in a long time. I'm going to order a 2nd 250GB WDSE drive, and then raid 1 the fuckers, instant mirror on-going backup.

Just wish I hadn't put it off this long....

Yeah, I felt like literally taking the system and throwing it out the window, but, it's probably my own fault.

For about a year I've had my server running at a pretty nice overclock, stable as hell. ~1.8Ghz Mobile XP cpu running at around 2.4GHz. I hadn't rebooted the server in 83 or so days, and I guess this was the pcs way of telling me... "hey, jackass, kinda gettin' stressed out, bitch!"

It could've sent me an IM, or an SMS, or something...but "Corrupt file on D:\" was all it could mutter...

I have the server running stock, and it's noticeable, things are running sluggishly and stuff, think I'll see if I can manage with it for now until I have income again, THEN I'll add more ram, if not build myself a brand new server box.

I should have the 2nd hard drive in tomorrow to setup the Raid 1 array however, I'm not putting that off any longer.

if you do you should considere just buying a standard harddrive and a USB converter case, it's probably save you a ton

Yes indeed, I purchased an external usb case for around 20 or 30, the hard drive different from internal and external for the same exact drive otherwise (size and speed) can be around $100.
