a funny little poem one of my old teachers found in a newspaper a while back..
i just found it when i was browsing through a bunch of junk on his webpage (looking for something else which i never managed to find..)
Quote:
lately i've been noticing that i'm pretty sure spellcheckers and that pesky red underliner in openoffice are making a bad speller, so i turned that shit off |

Never saw this thread...that is pretty funny, probably took a tiny bit of time to write it using all the wrong words (but proper spellings).
And it took slightly longer to actually read that, for some reason.

Exactly, my brain hurts just looking at the poem, because it's basically sitting there saying, those words don't fucking go together, wtf?!

Yeah, but I blame that on the in-game chat systems, where 5 year olds are allowed to use all the l33t sp34k faggotry they like. It's always a huge distraction to me, some games let you block chat unless from say, teammates or whatever, block global, but, all games need that instituted, period.

i think my one friend's clan was one of the few that actually tried to keep with the atmosphere of the game (MOH Allied Assault). the names weren't obnoxious and they were very serious. it was much more enjoyable than "HACKED" or "LOL OMG PWN3D" every time there's a kill. not saying every game is like that, but a good deal of what i have played has had annoyances in that respect.

MOH:AA was a great game when it came out (I haven't played it in years, might have to reinstall that one sometime...though, I'm more interested in trying out Pacific Assault or whatever the newest version/expansion is).
I never messed with the text to speech option in ut2k4...I never bothered with the chat rooms in the game. But I do recall messing around with the text to speech util. in windows back in college, good ol' microsoft sam says "I'm so high right now, I think I'm going to kill everyone in this room", or something like that, we had my friends pc hooked up to a huge stereo system, and when it was quiet at the apartment, we cranked it up and randomly made sam talk shit when people were half out of it.
