Am I the only one who didnt mind win 8.1? Cant stand Windows phone (Dear lord have you seen their app store/live marketplace?) but windows is still the OS of choice for gaming, sooo.... *shrug* About those steam boxes, huh. |

I didn't mind Vista...or ME, besides constant re-installing. 8.1 is fine as well. 7 was the sweet spot. Lucky # I guess.

95 to 98 was our blessed huge leap in stability and ME soured the whole thing.. it didnt go back to 95's shitfest, but to deal with it for the few months before we all had XP was just wretched. (Preaching to the choir, I know) |

Yes Millenium edition sucked, thoroughly. But I made it work, just like I made Vista work, with Vista it was all about the drivers... ME was just about having a fresh install and hoping something didn't corrupt, forcing another fresh install.
I use StartIsBack on Windows 8, I don't find myself using the start screen very much at all, rarely see it actually.

Its actually kinda nice to have a smartphone-type interface as a GUI. Maybe I'm a bit enthralled by the eyecandy, but I like the aesthetics of it all. Now if I just had a touchscreen monitor and a bottle of windex nearby..
